Oprah's Search for the next TV Star

As a member of Shespeaks.com, I had the opportunity to preview the season premier of "Your OWN Show: Oprah's search for the next tv star." The show was 30 minutes without commercials.  It features 10 contestants that are vying for the position of owning their own show under Oprah's guidance.  I have to say, my first thought was "How come I didn't know about this?"  I would love to have my own show.  As I watched the first episode, there were times that I found myself drifting away.  I'm not sure if it's because we've all seen too many of these types of reality tv or that the characters themselves were not as dynamic and interesting.  What I did see was a team of contestants  that worked well together and a team that had too many huge egos.  Unfortunately, huge ego's don't often listen to others suggestions; therefore may not be true leaders.   I won't give away the show as I would want you to make your own decisions on it.  In the end, a lucky person will have their own show and be very blessed to have Oprah as his or her mentor.

A Girl Can Dream

Today, the news stations were all abuzz about the megamillions lottery draw.  The amount to be won is 355 million dollars.  They predicted long lines at the local gas stations and convenience stores.  I did pick up a few tickets, but never had to wait in a long line. When I win tonight, I promise to put forth a plan to make sure that my family and friends are taken care of.  


One of my biggest dreams is to help other people; people that really need the help. Help in a way that will build self esteem, pride and ownership.  I've thought about this for a long time. My heart is true in this direction.  A girl can dream and believe that dreams do come true.

Before I knew it, a New Beginning Again

Wishing all of you a Happy Healthy New Year!  I can't believe that time flew by so fast.  It was a year ago that I decided to start my blog.  Somewhere along the line, I became busy and exhausted and writing was put on the back burner.  Though I mentioned exhausted, I did have fun along the way.  In August, I spent two weeks in Italy celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary.  There are places that give you such peace and serenity.  Tuscany, the people, the food and the beauty in the country is that place for me.
